Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

1. Introduction

GroupCheers ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our service at groupcheers.com ("the Service").

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.

Card content: Messages, GIFs, stickers, and other content that you and your team members add to group cards.

Contact information: Email addresses of people you invite to sign cards or receive card deliveries.

Integration data: When you connect third-party services like Slack or Microsoft Teams, we store access tokens and workspace information needed to deliver cards through those platforms.

Usage data: We collect basic usage information such as pages visited, features used, and error logs to improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service, including creating and delivering group cards
  • Send card invitations and delivery notifications on your behalf
  • Authenticate your account and manage your subscription
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests
  • Improve and optimize the Service

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

  • Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), payment processing (LemonSqueezy), and integrations (Slack, Microsoft Teams). These providers only access data necessary to perform their services.
  • Card recipients and signers: Card content is shared with the intended recipients and anyone with the card's share link.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in secure, encrypted databases hosted by Neon (PostgreSQL). We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Access tokens for third-party integrations are stored securely in our database. While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Third-Party Integrations

When you connect Slack or Microsoft Teams, we request only the permissions necessary to deliver cards and import contacts. You can disconnect integrations at any time from your settings, which revokes our access. We do not read private messages or access data beyond what is needed for the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Card content is retained until the card is deleted by the creator. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and download your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information in your account
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Disconnect third-party integrations at any time
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
